Commissioner Wayne Duke said the action, taken at the re- recent conference summer meet- ing at Gaylord, Mich., was to ac- comrnodate the new NCAA-ap- proved rule permitting freshmen to compete on varsity football and basketball teams. The contests will be scheduled at the discretion of each school with the only restriction being that no more than three games be played on the road. Michigan has no games sched- uled yet for this fall but indi- cations are that the Wolverine re- serve team will probably play up to or near its limits of six con- tests. Traditional freshmen rivals Notre Dame and Michigan State will be played at least once but other opponents are as yet un- certain. Also isncertains is the exact makeup of the reserve squad. It will probably consist of most of the freshmen and some of t h e third and fourth line upperclass- men. Previously, the Big Ten per- mitted a maximum of three freshmen games and up to I1 garnes at the former junior var- sity lesel Billboard Tickets remain available for the Detroit Lions-Cleveland Browns' exhibition football game to be played this Sunday at 2 p.m. in Michigan Stadium. Price is $6.00 and tickets can be pur- chased at the Michigan Ticket Office, State and Hoover.
