The loss dropped the Tigers 1% game behind the first-place Baltimore Orioles in the torrid American League baseball race. The Orioles were idle last night. The victory was the 43rd at home against 14 losses for the White Sox, who moved within one game of idle Oakland in the American League West pennant race. Andrews opened the fourth with his sixth homer off Bill Parsons, 9-11. Dick Allen then walked, stole- second, went to third on an error and scored on Reichardt's single through a pulled-in infield. Tom Bradley, 13-9, had a no- hitter going into the fifth when the Brewers broke through for a run on doubles by Joe Lahoud and Mike Ferraro. Angels haloed CLEVELAND - Frank Duffy's bases-loaded single with two out in the bottom of the 10th inning capped a two run rally that car- ried the Cleveland Indians to a 4-3 American League victory over California last night. The Angels had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th on Bob Oliver's third RBI of the game, a single off third baseman Graig Nettles' glove. But in the bottom of the 10th, Steve Barber, 4-2, took over for California starter Rudy May. Buddy Bell singled and John Brohamer was safe when Oliver threw his bunt to second too late to get Bell. Ray Fosse singled to load the bases, Barber uncorked a wild pitch that tied the baseball game and, two outs later, Duffy came through with his winning hit to center. Mets romp NEW YORK - Ed Kranepool and Tommie Agee hit home runs and relief pitcher Tug McGraw helped Jim McAndrew out of a tight spot in the eighth inning, giving the New York Mets a 5-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves last night. Kranepool gave the Mets a 1-0 lead with a bases-empty home run in the second inning and capped a three-run eighth for New York with an RBI single. Agee delivered a-two run homer for the other runs in the eighth. McAndrew, 9-3, held the Braves to three hits through the first seven innings before running in- to trouble in the eighth. The righthander walked Mike Lum to lead off the inning and then- gave up a one-out pinch single to Sonny Jackson that put men on first and third.
