name. Police then charged their

cans in Pleiku. The city is 27
miles south of Kontum, consider-
ed the next objective of North
Vietnamese forces in the high-
lands.
The U.S. Command said the
latest air losses raised to 78 the
number of U.S. aircraft reported
lost in Indochina since the start
of the North Vietnamese offen-
sive March 30. These include 40
planes and 38 helicopters. U.S.
casualties reported by the com-
mand in the air losses are 64
k i l l e d, 70 missing and 20
wounded.

The Human Rights Party
(HRP) of Ann Arbor elected a
new party coordinator, two city
committee co-ordinators ad
eight new steering commttee
members at a mass meeting held
this week at HRP headquarters.
Bob Alexander was elected
HRP coordinator and says he will
"work for a really democratic,
tough organizations
David Kahill and Susan St: t,-
erwalt were elected chairpersons
for the city committee.
This committee will work with
City Council members Nancy
Wechsler (HRP-Second Ward)
and Jerry De Grieck (HRP-First
Ward) as liaisons to inform the
party of any relevant C i t y
Council business. They will also
act as an advisory body for the
party.
Linda Butler, Tom Coui, Ro-
bert Hefner, Mike Minnich. Pet-
er Mitchell Mary Ann Moris
Susan Newell and Geri Spruig
were elected members of the
steering committee.
The steering committee decid-
es on the methods to implement
party decisions made at the
mass meetings. In addition, they
work to carry out the' pslictes
of the party platform.
The steering committee w i ll1
also work toward the election
of three HREP members to the
Ann Arbor school board on the
June 6 election.

cently that she may drop
