Masochist hoop coaches await doom Sparks flew yesterday down at the corner of Hoover and State as the Dream Tennis Match of the Century was realized. Coaches Bill Frieder and Jim "My Hands Are Calloused" Dutcher accepted the challenge of the Daily tennis tandem of "Rocket" Feldman and "Oscar the Gazelle" Bloom in a winner-take-all match. In their morning news conference, held at the Delta, the hoop mentors let their true feelings known about the upcoming contest. "These two-bit bench jockeys have spoken once too often," raged a livid Dutcher, "and now they're going to pay." When asked about the sight for the classic confrontation, Frieder suggested Lower Serbia. "There's this 7-2 kid down there, and we can write it off as a recruiting trip." The Journalistic duo rebutted with their own charges of im- propiety, naivete, and botulism. "The court will run red with Faygo," they exclaimed. Tentative date is Friday, June 14 but the place is up in the air.
