Lazy Bill Lucas had them turned on wild. With the help of John Schrag on drums, Lazy Bill layed down some pretty powerful rhythm and blues. In a voice that resounded loud but never mean, the black blind musician would say "And now, boys, I'm going to play my piano." His progressions were then smooth and never sloppy and you just knew his fingers felt a deep affinity with those key- boards. 1130 2 Movie-Drama BW "Five Finger Eercise." Although he's play- ed "professional" for nearly 30 years, he says he "started out with a harmonica" at the age of four. He's played guitar on the streets of St. Louis in the forties, pianol in the clubs of Chicago (with such greats as Muddy Waters) in the fifties and now he's play- ing coffeehouses all over the states. But the seventies don't seem to be doing him justice. Engage- ments are coming less often now. A man of such time tempered talent shouldn't be forgotten-his music should be heard by a lot more people. If the Pig ever brings him back, make it a point to get on over there to hear him. (WABX-Airwaves) -A Baptist newspaper, the Christian Crusade Weekly, is trying to prevent Woodstock from being shown on TV next spring. Scheduled as a three-hour special for April 19, CBS has already cut a full hour from the original film to make it 'suitable' for general audiences. But the Crusade compladned that such editing was impossible, since "the whole film was a sub- culture glorification of drugs, promiscuity, nudity and subver- sion of law and order." CBS plans to go ahead with the show.
