NEW YORK (AP) - Nate Archi-
bald, Kansas City-Omaha's rela-
tively small guard, was the big-
gest vote collector on the Na-
tional Basketball Association
1972-73 Alt-Star squad announced
yesterday; while Boston's Dave,
Cowens, the league's Most Val-
uable Player, failed to make the
team.
The 6-foot-1 Archibald, the NBA
leader in scoring with 2,719
points for a 34.0 average in 80
games, in assists with 910 for
an 11.4 average and in minutes
played with 3,681, received
15.836 points from a panel of
sportswriters and broadcasters
in the league's 17 cities. Each
city received a full vote, mean-
ing 17.000 would be the maxi-
arum.

9, was third in rebounding and
recently was chosen as the lea-
gue's MVP in balloting by the
NBA players.

Walt Frazier of New York and

Each player on the first team
will receive $500, while each se-
cond-team member will get $250.
West's selection was his fourth
in a row to the first team and
a record-tying 10th time he has
been named to the All-Star squad.

Steve Grote (34) from Cincinnati Elder is the newest recruit for
Michigan basketball. Grote, 6-2, 185, who led his squad to the
Ohio state AAA title, chose Michigan over Ohio State because of
