Aug. 22-25 Mendelssohn Theatre Tickets at the Music Shop Mitchell accused of lying on ITT (Continued from Page 1) cause it outlines Mitchell's agree- ment to talk with Richard Mc- Laren, former Justice Depart- ment antitrust chief, following his meeting with ITT President Harold Geneen in August 1970. Prior-to the July 31, 1971 set- tlement of the antitrust suits against ITT, the Kleindienst hear- ings showed, McLaren was ag- gressively attempting to take the three suits to the Supreme Court. McLaren, now a U.S. district court judge in Chicago, said he went along with the settlement because ITT agreed to divest some holdings. He said that was the action he wanted from the high court. COLSON SAID a May 5, 1971 memo from Ehrlichman to Mit- chell alluded "to discussions be- tween the President and the AG (attorney general) as to the 'agreed upon ends' in the reso- lution of the ITT case and asking the AG w h e t h e r Ehrlichman should work directly with Mc- Laren or through Mitchell. "There is also a memo to the President at the same time per- iod. We know we have control of all the copies of this, but we don't have control of the original memo to the AG. This memo would once again contradict Mitchell's tes- timony and more importantly As an executive session Wed- nesday, the committee voted not to call Colson during the present phase of the hearings. BEFORE CONCLUDING his third day of testimony, Haldeman was assailed by Sen. Lowell Weicker Jr. (R-Conn.) for order- ing ,a post-election counter-of- fensive lumping together Demo- crats, demonstrations and "for- eign or Communist money." Weicker's comments were based on two memos handed the com- mittee and made public. One, from Haldeman to White House counsel John Dean dated Feb. 10, 1973, said in part: "WE NEED to get our people to put out the story on the for- eign and Communist money that was used in support of demon- strations against the President in 1972. We should tie all 1972 dem- onstrations to McGovern and thus to the Democrats as part of the peace movement. "The investigation should be broadened to include the peace movement which leads directly to McGovern and Teddy Kennedy. This is a good counteroffensive to be developed." Asked about the so-called White House enemies list, Haldeman acknowledging ordering a back- ground check on CBS newsman D a n i e l Schorr, but said he couldn't recall why he had done directly involve the President." artP Peleraellers *SAlbert 7 Hogloagel, HospitalAdmini'stratori it's still 'here Does the same :. old story, It Hurt? a fight tor - ovI 0and Wh g0 Iag, b .
