Batsmen wallop Buckeyes twice COLUMBUS (UPI)-The Uni- versity of Michigan bombed Ohio State pitching for 26 hits yester- day in sweeping a doubleheader 9-6 and 10-3 that kept alive Wol- verine hopes in the Big Ten title race and knocked out the Buck- eyes. Freshman righthander Chuck Rogers held the Buckeyes to six hits going the distance in the second game for the Wolverines after OSU had spoiled the perfect pitching record of sophomore lefty Art Adams in the opener. Adams had pitched three com- plete games without allowing an earned run, but the Buckeyes got to him for five in the first four innings. Pete Helt relieved Adams in. the bottom of the fourth with Michigan leading 6-5 and then pitched the rest of the way to get the win.
