The programs a r e scheduled for 4-5 p.m.9 EDT, with the exception of the July 14 show which wil be shown from 3:30- 4:30. p.m. Roone Arledge, President of ABC, said at a news conference that he was not expecting great ratings "because the fights will be on Saturdays in the summer but we hope enough people watch to warrant a switch to a hetter time slottand that the prigram can go on forever." "Boxing on television has done well and can do very well," said Arledge, pointing to the success of several closed-circuit telecasts of fights in recent years. The Garden has been using the Felt Forum to develop main- event fights for the main arena, and it is these fighters who will be featured on television. "It doesn't matter what their names are as long as they can fight," said Teddy Benner, pres- ident of Madison Square Garden Boxing, Inc.. Over exposure and legal prob- lems growing out of a monopoly were the main reasons that end- ed a long-running weekly series of televised fights in 1964. MICK JAGGER as 500 N. Homer at E.
