Ernie D, where are you? The Buffalo Braves must -be wondering out loud to them- selves these days. They announced early yesterday that Provi- dence star Ernie DiGregorio had signed a multi-year, multi- dollar contract with the NBA franchise. That statement came from the lips of Braves' president Paul Snyder and General Manager Eddie Donovan who added that "Ernie D" was on his way to Buffalo. But to and behold, several hours later it was announced that no such deal had been reached and that the 6-0 guard was staying in Providence because "problems have arisen in the finalization of the contract." Meanwhile, the Kentucky Colonels of the rival ABA, thought to have been out-bargained for DiGregorio's services, are in contact with his lawyer, Larry Fleisher, attempting to lure Ernie to Blue Grass Country.
