"WHY DO THE HEATHEN RAGE?" '

E phesians 2:8,9, says: "For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of
works, lest any man should boast." Time and again have
heard great men, and good men, quote this passage and
follow it up by saying: "There Is nothing you can do, ab-
solutely nothing to get saved, itIs the gift of God." Such ad-
vice usually brings to mind the passage where a man asked
Christ if there were few that be saved, and His answer."Strive
to enter In at the straight gate: for many, I say unto you, will
seek to enter in, and shall not be able."-Luke 12:24. The
writer is not concerned about upsetting anothee's doctrine,
unless it Is a doctrine that uses one Scripture to cancel
another Scripture. In the "temptation scene" when the devil
quoted a Scripture to offset the Scripture Christ acted upon,
Christ told him he was "tempting God" We should all be
greatly concerned lest any be found tares and offensive and
"food for the furnace fire" in that day, when they are sup-
posed to be, and think they are, good wheat for the Master's
garner. The Bible does not contradict itself. Apparent con-
tradictions are the result of our blindness, stiff-neckedness,
and uncircumcision of the hearit

REMBRANDT SHOW
NEW YORK (AP)-"Rembrandt and
the Bible," an exhibition focusing on 50
prints as well as some drawings and
paintings that illustrate both Old and
New Testament subjects, is on view at
the Metropolitan Museum of Art
through June 10.
The museum says, "The exhibit will
explore Rembrandt's lifelong
fascination with Biblical themes and
will provide an opportunity to study his
brilliant achievements as a graphic ar-
tist."
