Bissell notched ,two goals and an as- sist, while Friend anchored a defensive unit which prevent- ed Purdue's power play from scoring on twelve opportuni- ties covering eight and a half minutes. Cy Wert covered two goals for Michigan while Pete Lind- quist added a goal and two as- sists and Ray Cassel chipped in with one goal and one assist. Michigan's goalies also contin- ied their superb play, the tan- dem now boasts a goals-against average of three per game in what is usually a much higher- scoring sport. "Both our fundamentals and our specialties weren't as ef- fective -as they should be at this time in the season," said Michigan coach Bob DiGio- vanni. "But we're hoping to tune up in time for Ohio State." The Wolverines' next action comes against the Buckeyes in Columbus Wednesday evening. "Both Oberlin (Michigan's 10-! 3 victim in the season opener) and Purdue were not the kind of test OSU is going to be," DiGio- vanni warned. Lacrosse is a varsity sport at Ohio State, while both Oberlin and Purdue offered club teams, as does Michigan. The Purdue win pushed Michi-: gan's lacrosse record to 22-4 since DiGiovanni took over as coach in 1974. Your silence. It kills your friends, your relatives, and people you don't even know. But they're all people you could save. If you knew what to say, maybe you'd be less quiet. Maybe fewer people would die. What yu should say is, "I'll drive you home." Or. "1Let me call a cab." Or,"Sleepon my couch tonight." Don't hesitate because your friend may have been drinking only beer. Beer and wine can be just as intoxicating as mixed drinks. And don't think that black coffee will make him sober. Black coffee never made anyone sober.. Maybe it would keep him awake long enough to have an accident. But that's about all. The best way to prevent a drunk from becoming a dead drunk is to stop him from driving. Speak up. Don't let silence be the last sound he hears. ---- - - -- - -- DRUNK DRIVERDEPT.Y A.2 BOX 2345 RO(CKVILLE, MARYLAND 20852 I I don't want to remain silent.
