=r#doy, October 1 Of 1975 THE MICHIGAN bAILY Doge Nine FACE SHOWDOWN SATURDAY part By ANDY GLAZER The Michigan State Spartans have bounced back - brilliant-! ly. Just four weeks ago they were left for dead following a crush- ing 21-0 defeat at the hands of Ohio State. But three straightI wins have vaulted the Spar- tans into position to make their 1975 season a resounding suc- cess. If they can beat Michigan. The oddsmakers seem to think they have a shot, mak- ing the Wolverines mere three point favorites, despite their, impressive win over Missouri a week ago., Evidently someone out there thinks Michigan State has a lot of horsepower. That horsepower, on offense, consists mainly of tight end Mike Cobb, left guard Greg Croxton, right tackle Tony Bruggenthies, quarterback Charlie Baggett and tailback Levi Jackson. Cobb, a junior who has been starting for the past two years, has caught only nine passes during that stretch. Two of those came this year. He's 6-5, 241 and is a fine blocker. Croxton, a 6-0, 229 senior, and Bruggentheis, a 6-3, 268 junior, open a lot of holes, and Crox- ton is a very possible all-Big Ten choice. But their mates in ans the front line nearly as effecti Tom Cole, center right guard Ray haven't been b out, and it show try to stretch string haven't been been miserable. ve.
