Ford had asked for Congress' approval by the end of this week of committing 200 U.S. tech- nicians to monitor the Israeli-j Egyptian peace in the Sinai Peninsula. BUT Rep. William Broomfield of Michigan, ranking Republican of the House International Rela- tions Committee, said yesterday that no full House vote is now likely until week after next. Broomfield joined a group of committee members pressing for full disclosure of the U.S. commitments before they act' on the Sinai technicians but said he believes there is no question Congress will approve the com- mitment. Some-members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee al- so are asking for full disclosure. BROOMFIELD disclosed that he turned down an arrangement last week under which he and House Committee Chairman Thomas Morgan (D-Pa.) would be the only House members to see all documents involved in the Mideast peace accord. Other members said the House committee was briefed last week on .a provision of the accord published by the Washington Post yesterday that promises U.S. supply of F16 jetfighters to Israel. MEMBERS said the commit- tee was also briefed last week on a supposedly secret but publicly reported, U.S. promise to be "fully responsive" to Israeli military, economic and oil as- sistance needs. But Chairman Lee Hamilton (D-Ind.) of the committee's spe- cial investigations subcommit-1 tee, said the committee mem- bers now want details on what those agreements involve. "'Fully responsive'," said Hamilton. "That's pretty broad language." The House committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Com- mittee were briefed on the agreements by Undersecretary of State Joseph Sisco. SACRAMENTO, Calif. () - A judge reduced bail for Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, who is ac- cused of attempting to kill President Ford, from $1 million to $350,00 yesterday after she pleaded to be set free on her word. "Before the world at this time, my word to myself or anybody is my life," the 26-year-old Charles Manson disciple said from the witness stand. She promised to appear in court whenever asked. U.S. District Court Judge Thomas MacBride rejected the defense attorney's request to release Fromme without bail. He agreed with the prosecutor who described the attempted assassination of President Ford as a "heinous" crime. "The nature of the criminal charges is extremely serious, a heinous crime to say the very least," the judge said.
