Washtenaw County Sheriff's Detective Harold Kerr said that Wilson, now being held without bond in the Washtenaw County Jail, "made damaging state- ments (to detectives) that he did kill the girl and received profit from Boukai for the crime." The University an- nounced on Wednesday that it had offered President Ford a visiting professor-ship in po-. litical science. Whether he will indeed be schlepping out to Angell Hall every morning like the rest of us is another matter. White House transi- tion chief Major Robert Bar- rett said the President is put- ting off consideration of all job offers - and there have been a few - until after the inaug- uration on Jan. 20. This was no spur of the mo- ment offer either - it was learned , that the day after Ford lost to President-elect Jimmy Carter, the executive committee of the political sci- ence department voted unani- Robben Fleming said the offer had been brought to Ford's at- tention "in an informal way." While student reaction was generally favorable, not all of the faculty was enchanted with the idea of President Ford becoming Professor Ford. Po- litical Science Prof. David Singer called the offer a "pub- lic relations decision rather than a pedagogical one."
