CINCINNATI - The Cincin-
nati Reds clinched their fifth
National League Western Divi-
sion title in seven years last,
night, beating the San Diego
Padres 9-1 as rookie Pat Zach-
ry notched his 14th victory.
Zachry, supported by a 12-hit

eight hits to lift his record to
14-5. The 6-foot-5 right-hander
struck out eight and walked
three as the Reds claimed the
NL West title with 10 games
left in the season.
