Three of the students- Debbie Goodman, Richard Ros- enthal and Michael Taylor-told the Regents they had been fired by their supervisor for handing out leaflets, talking to students about the strike and walking picket lines. They charged their release was in clear violation of the Fourteenth Amendment, which ensures due process under the law. Taylor told the Regents he and his fellow student workers were fired without the required three warnings, a suspension, or a hearing.
