Coach Stu Isaac isn't too concerned with his team's recent inactivity. "The team returned (to Ann Arbor) December' 27th," he said. "They've been training really hard through January, and can't wait for a meet to break up the monotony." The tankers easily defeated Oakland 88-23 in their last meet and Isaac predicts another victory today against Purdue. "They (Purdue) have a little more depth than Oak- land. I don't know about their freshmen, but their best swimmers aren't as good as our best," Isaac said. Today's competition against Purdue is the women's first of six straight meets against Big Ten foes. After the weekend, the women, who won last year's Big Ten cham- pionship, will have a good idea of what they'll have to do to repeat as champs. But Isaac preferred to talk about the Purdue meet. "We'll win unless we make mistakes. And after all of our practicing, just about everyone should be sharp. We'll do well." Women divers Chris Selfert, Lori Wettlaufer and Julie Jeffrey performed well against Oakland and the coaches hope they can keep up the good work this weekend.. The Purdue meet is tonight at 7:30 p.m. Saturday's competition against the Fighting Illini takes place at 4:00 p.m., instead of the usual 7:30 p.m. starting time. Both meets will be held at the Matt Mann Pool located on the corner of State and Hoover. I y ( 7 f 1. Wayne Walls, Pur. 12 2. Mike Woodson, Ind. 17 3. Ron Lester, Iowa 5 4.
