International University Hubbard hui By CUB SCHWARTZ Michigan preseason All-American center Phil Hubbard injured his left knee while coming down from a rebound yesterday in the Wolverines' opening practice of the year. Hubbard, who injured the same knee last summer in Bulgaria, was examined by team physician, Dr. Gerald O'Connee, but the extent of the injury was unknown. The knee will be X-rayed this morning. "WE EXPECTED his knee to be healed three weeks ago," said a worried Johnny Orr. "We've kept him off it for the past three weeks." "It was strong this morning when it was examined. He said it felt good, and there was no pain or swelling," Orr con- tinued. "I don't understand it. It has been examined I don't know how many times by the best doctors." Orr felt that the injury might not be related to the injury in Bulgaria since all tests had shown the knee to be in good, condition. The knee was heavily taped for practice, however.
