Carl Pursell and Senator Don Riegle,
and the singing of Israel's national an-

and dance, amid signs that said "We
Are One" and "After 2,000 years it's

pleased with the spirit of optimism that
pervaded the Diag crowd.
"People are just spontaneously get-
ting up and dancing and singing. It's
great, it's a beautiful day," Randy
Abramson observed from the sidelines
of the merriment.
"I think it's great that we were able
to show our support by celebrating in-
stead of demonstrating," added one
celebrant.

and identify with the people of Israel. It
stresses the close ties between the
United States and Israel, through
