While the rest of the student
body relaxes at home, in Flori-
da, or wherever college students
relax over the Christmas break,
the Michigan basketball team will
continue its quest for glory on the
hardwoods with two tournaments
and a game with a local power-J
house, the University of Detroit
Titans.
The Wolverines have been en-
joying a .few days off since 'open-
ing the campaign with four games
in eight days but they swing back
into action Saturday against U-D
in the Motor City.
While other Big Ten powers have
been warming up for conference
play with Chicago State, St. Jo-
seph's (Indiana), Western Illinois,
Wisconsin - Milwaukee and De
Pauw; Michigan has faced four
schools with strong basketball tra-
ditions and won three of the con-
tests.
At the outset of the season,
Coach Johnny Orr warned, "Ev-
ery team on our schedule is
tough - they're no breathers".
Orr's admonition seems to be ac-
curate as the upcoming oppon-
ents on Michigan.'s, schedule will
be poised. for bttle with the
talented and highly publicized
Wolverines.
Jim Harding's club at Detroit
has won its first three games in-
cliding an upset of Illinois of the
Big Ten last weekend. The Titans
lost Frank Russell (Campy's bro-
