HOME FROM WHERE?
Poll shows Homecoming confusion

AND

By DAN BORUS
Daily Sports Pollster
Although Homecoming has a rec-,
ognition factor of over 98 per cent,
it still suffers from what can be
termed the post-war counter action
spiral according to figures released'
in yesterday's Borus Poll. The
survey covers the dates October
25-26, 1972.
Readers are cautioned that sup-1
port for any position is not solid
and percentage points will vary
from case to case due to sampling'
errors. However, the figures;
shown do represent trends in both
the athletic and student commit-
tees.

per cent of those surveyed wonder
why in the world anyone would
want to come home to Ann Arbor
in October.
"It gets pretty damn cold here,"
said one pert co-ed from East
Quad. "I have knitted three ski-
jackets already."

seemed quite reticent to get in on
the action. A good 56.3 per cent
argued that Homecoming was a
misnomer. "After all," concluded
one husky tackle, "we haven't
really gone anywhere for more
than twenty-four hours.
This feeling is backed up by the
athletes' response to the question,
"If you had gone somewhere, do;
you think you were missed."
Sixty-seven per cent felt that they,
were missed only by loved ones,
