Page Twelve_ THE MICHIGAN DAILY Friday, April 24, 197'3 Page Twelve THE MICHIGAN DAILY Friday, April 20, 1973 Sut alleges harassed ci (Contnued from Page ) "They ran up to me land asked me to identify myself, but they re- fused to let go inside to get any ID.", Someone inside the house came to the front door, Harrison turned to see who it was and "the bigger cop jumped me and pushed me to the floor," he claimed. The officer then "bounced on my left leg while the other handcuffed my left hand and tried to lift me up. Then he grabbed my right hand and twisted my little finger unit it snapped," Harrison added. Harrison contended he offered no resistance during the scuffle and tried to tell the patrolmen he would cooperate without being beaten. Despite being in what he called "excruciating pain," he was hand- cuffed and taken to police head- quarter where the officers finger- printed and questioned him, but filed no charges, according to Har- rison. The police department has cate- gorically denied all allegations without additional comment. "on the advice of the City Attor- hey's Office we are making no public statements" beyond the de- nial, Police Chief Walter Krasny said. He indicated, however, no disciplinary action has been taken against the officers. The City Attorney's office refused to comment on the suit, since it had not been officially served. Following the April 11 interroga- tion at the police station, the offi- cers took Harrison to St. Joseph's Hospital despite his request to be treated by his own doctor, the suit charges.
