Martin Brown of Midland was the victim of repeated numerous knife wounds to the body. Before dying, he described his assailants as two black males dressed in army fatigues. Police and friends could find no motive for the slaying. Brown's wallet, with money in it, was not taken. One friend described the 20-year- old as "pretty straight, not a freak. He never touched drugs or any- thing." Another said, "Marty was The Michigan Daily, edited and man- aged by students at the University of Michigan. News phone: 764-0562.
