THE MICHIGAN DAILY Saturday, February 16, 1974 THE MICHIGAN DAILY Saturday, February 16, 1974 Legality of Dean's testimony challenged (Continued from Page 1) of the cover-up from Dean onr March 21.E Gesell said he did not believe1 Chapin's rights were harmed by [Jaworski's TV remarks, but her nevertheless chided the special! Watergate prosecutor, remarkingj "I urge you to stay off these 'catch as catch can' type shows." j"It seems to me you should~ have the good sense to keep your-1 self off these talk shows," thet judge told the past president of both the American Bar and American Trial Lawyers associa- tions. JAWORSKI remarked that hisE comments on ABC's "Issues and Answers" in support of Dean's veracity were a repetition of what prosecutors had said in court pre- viously. But he said he would exercise "the greatest care" in the future,. then added, "A tremendous amount of publicity made it ap- pear that a concerted effort was being made to destroy a govern- ment witness." Meanwhile, another federal; judge yesterday denied a request by former Nixon Administration cabinet officers John Mitchell and Maurice Stans to transfer their ob- struction of justice trial to Missis- sippi. THE DECISION by Judge Leej Gagliardi, who will preside at the trial in Manhattan Federal Court, cleared the way for the start of the trial next Tuesday. In addition, it was revealed yes- terday that major Watergate in- dictments have been delayed until a jury is sequestered in the trial of Mitchell and Stans. Daily Classifieds B ring Quick Results "The grand jury is ready to go at any time," a source in the Wat- ergate prosecutor's office told UPI. "But the indictments are be- ing held up until a jury is select- ed in the Mitchell-Stans trial." While not directly confirming the report, a spokesman for Jaworski said, "It is unlikely that we would be doing anything while the jury is being selected up there. We have been told it wtill not take more than three or four days." Mitchell and Stans go on trial on conspiracy and perjury charges in connection with an alleged il- legal $200,000 campaign contribu- tion from fugitive financier Rob- ert Vesco. JET FARES.
