If Cold Turkey Is Too Tough ...
maybe the Smoker's Clinic, sponsored by Health Service, can
help you quit smoking.
The Clinic's method for the reduction and elimination of
cigarette smoking is based on the premise that much of our
behavior is turned on and off by cues in our environment.
Various stimuli become "event setters" for certain behaviors,
provided those behaviors are reinforced in the presence of stimuli.
Not only will the program help reduce the number of cigarettes
smoked, but will also phase out stimuli for smoking behavior.
Prior to the first session, each participant must bring a $20
"deposit" to Health Service. Two dollars will be refunded to each
group member per session, contingent on attendieg the meeting
with the completed data sheets and following the program. The
group will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings for six
