Through the five units of O.S.S. (Housing, Health Service, Career Planning and Placement, Office of Special Services and Programs (O.S.S.&P.), and Counseling Services), we seek to provide a comprehensive program of referral, counseling and related "' services. Counseling is available at a preventive level as well as a crisis level, for both academic and developmental problems. -°Our goal) is to facilitate the educational development of students at the University of Michigan, and to be both an advocate on behalf of the Students to the Administration as well as an advocate on behalf of the Administration to the students. The creative tension that is a result of these two roles manifests itself in a feeling, on the part of O.S.S., of strong commitment to meet the needs of students. Both the physical and educational environment of the student is our concern, and we wish to aid personal de- ' velopment as well. We have a commitment to helping students, in order that they be better able to function in.a humane, intelli- gent and sensitive manner. On these two pages is a brief description of each of the five units of O.S.S. Please note important telephone numbers, or keep these pages for reference. We would like to hear from you; both positive and negative comments are welcome so that we may better serve you in the future.
