Ziegler postponed his scheduled Feb. 25 appearance at Michigan State University ( MSU) 1 a t e last week, following controversy over Nixon administration officials profiting from Watergate. Ziegler's lecture fee was orig- inally to come jointly out of MSU's lecture fund and the stu- dent government. When the stu- dent government withdrew their half of the fee following student protest, the MSU administration agreed to honor Ziegler's con- tract and pay the entire fee. Ziegler's agent, William Leigh of the Colston-Leigh Lecture Bureau in New York, said Zieg- ler postponed the series follow- ing a re-evaluation of his time commitments and consideration for his general health. "There were a lot of things Ron had to do that he hadn't realized, that are tied up with working for Richard Nixon," said Leigh. "Ron has been working for a long time with no vacation, and now he feels he needs one. He wants to separate his own thoughts out." LEIGH ALSO, the timing for was bad. "He said Ziegler feltI a lecture tour feels it is not appropriate to begin lecturing ten days after he stops working for Nixon," said Leigh. "This fall should be much better for all concerned." Neither Ziegler or his agentl said the tour was postponed be- cause of the controversy at Michigan State, Boston College and several other colleges that had originally scheduled Zieg- ler to lecture. "I recognize that I'm nat the most popular figure on the col- lege campus today," Ziegler said yesterday on NBC's Today Show. "It will not affect my intent to lecture next fall," he insisted. "I intend to do that. I think there are a lot of students wvho want to listen to what a young man who served for five nd a half years in, government baes to say. And I look forward to their questions." AP Photo CARLA HILLS, President Ford's appointee as secretary of Housing and Urban Development, chats with reporters in Washington yesterday.
