ORGANIZATION DAILY OFFICIAL BULLETIN (Continued from Page 1) "I've listened to your four letter arguments, and I am not persuad- ed " Agnew said. " You people out there preach a lot about dis- sent, but you're afraid of a t h e r points of view because you don't have the strength of your own convictions." It was the first such outburst of, heckling Agnew had encountered in this current six-state campaign swing. Another knot of demonstra- tors jeered from among a crowd of more than 400 people as Ag- new arrived in Grand Rapids, his final stop. - Nixon described as a "cancerous disease" the nation's spreading in-' cidents of bombings, attacks on policemen, campus violence and aircraft hijacks in his K a n s a s speech. A standing-room, crowd esti- mated at 15,000, mainly students and faculty, jammed Ahearn Fieldhouse at Kansas State Uni-' dhersity and gave Nixon athunder- ous reception, and long ovations at various points. A small num- ber of local officials and o t h e r dignitaries also were present. About 40 or 50 hecklers in the balcony, mainly . young people,{ shouting "End the war!" cat- calls and a few obscenities, were overwhelmed by ringing' applause. "We must take an uncomprom- ising stand against those who re- ject the xrules of civilized conduct and of respect for others - those who would destroy what is right in our society and whose actions would do nothing to right what is wrong," Nixon told his campus audience. Nixon also warned that quality education is threatened by ter- rorizing assaults of "small bands of destructionists that have been allowed to impose their own rules of arbitrary force." He said, "It is time for respon- sible university and college ad- ministrators, faculty and student leaders to stand up and be count- ed. Only they can save higher edu- cation in America. It cannot be saved by government."
