The Buckeye took full advantage of his superior weight and was .imply too strong for Quinn, winning by a 4-1 score. The Wolverines put the meet out of reach in the 190 match, when Therlon Harris, normally a 177-pounder, defeated Jim Co- burn 4-0. Harris scored on a take- down in the first period, an escape in the second, and piled up a point of riding time in the third. Bolhouse's pin came quickly and gave the meet an abrupt ending. Michigan coach Rick Bay was pleased at the outcome, which was a sharp contrast to the last two meets, where fate had defeated his team. "They have been showing' constant improvement, and we hope to be ready for next week- end." Special To The Daily PRINCETON-On the strength of a good overall team perform- ance, Michigan swimmers topped Princeton 66-49 yesterday. The tankers, running their dual meet record to 8-0, touched first in only five of the eleven swimming events and were saved by their depth, and the diving of Dick Rydze. Rydze won the one meter diving competition with a total of 272.8, and came back later on to cop the three meter event. Rydze's score from the higher board was 267.1. The mermen jumped off to a quick lead by capturing the 400 yard medley relay, with Chris Hansen, Stu Isaac, Byron Mac- Donald and Ray McCullough fin- ishing in 3:34.8. Larry Day increased the gap, winning the 1000 yard freestyle with a 10:24.1 clocking. Day later placed second in the 500 yard freestyle.- Princeton was paced by fresh- man Bill Hoyt, who took three events. Hoyt won the 50 yard free- style, with 22.5; the 100 free with 49.1 and swam a leg, of the 400 yard freestyle relay, which was won by the host Tigers. MacDonald, besides swimming in the medley relay, won the 200 yard butterfly, while his relay teammate Isaac took the 200 yard breaststroke, touching in 2:13.6. Isaac also finished third in the 200 yard individual medley. The victory over Princeton (now 4-3) was the last warmup prior to next Friday's confrontation with Indiana, the defending NCAA champions. Although the dual meet record of the Wolverines is flawless, it is generally accepted that neither Michigan, nor any other of the top teams in the country could handle the Hoosiers in dual tmeet competition. However, Michigan will be treated to the appearance of all of the Indiana regulars, a privi- lege coach Jim Counsilman hasn't extended to most of his opponents this year. 4 ir 11 31, Mon., Feb. 1 ues., Feb. 2 I 8:00 P.M. each day oJlM.SCLUB 3, Thu., Feb. 4 Tues., Feb. 9,7:15 P.M., Room Anderson D., Mich.
