Queen Margo is 19 years old, and is five-foot-six inches tall. She has blonde hair and blue eyes and weighs in at a sleek 120 pounds. She has a cat (named Copy) and a dog, Frankie. She attends Pasadena City College, and \has enrolled in the music school. Even- tually, Margo hopes to be'a music teacher. Two heavily recruited players, chicano Victoria Annette Sanchez and soul sister Traci Lynn Stevens will be the outside receivers. The girl, who said, "ever since, I moved to California, I've watched the Rose Parade and Queen" now gets a chance to have her dream come true. "As every girl, I dreamed of one day being her," Margo cooed. But, just as any self-respecting woman, Miss Johnson does not like to be stereotyped. She told The Daily that the Rose Bowl Queen Contest is not a beauty contest. It started out with 626 girls from 16 different schools, all within the Pasadena school system, "It's just a coincidence that this year's queen and her court all come from Pasadena City College," Margo told us. ance to the essence of the Rose Bowl, that dealt with sucht timely social subjects as what the girls thought about the 18-year-old vote and how they would introduce their parents. The final announcement as to who would be queen was made at a dinner where the girls did not speak, but just ate. Queen Margo, only having been a naturalized American for two years prefers America to Canada because "of the freedom of speech issue, and the ease in which an American can run for public of- fice.' She did not comment on whether the Rose Bowl Queen was a public office. Margo sees her position as queen as being a good will ambassador for the city of Pasadena and the Rose Bowl. Her function as queen is "to get the people excited about the Rose Bowl game and parade." Although this takes time away from school, the sexy freshman says that her teachers have been understanding in allowing her to make up lectures and exams missed during the hectic weeks before the game and parade. Margo, although asked not to answer questions dealing with pol- itics, did tell The Daily that she was against the 18-year-old vote because "I know that when I was 18, I was not ready to vote, and could not understand all that was happening." But, she reassured The Daily, "When I do vote, you can bet that I'll vote intelligently."
