Oh! For a book and a
shady nook at the 'U'
Into each life a little rain must fall. And in each
college experience, a little studying must take place.
Whether you are a myopic bookworm or a last-minute,
crammer, the pain of studying can be minimized if you
can find the proper place to hit the books. Here are
some of the favorite places around campus.
UNDERGRADUATE LIBRARY -. The UGLI, peren-
nial habitat for both academicians and socialites, is the
most popular place to study on campus - probably be-
cause it is easier to goof around than study there. One
of the few air-conditioned buildings on campus, nearly

Does our "menu" suit your Hi-Fi tastes? Well, here's really
the exclusive place for quality Hi-Fi equipment in Mid-
Michigan. And you'll find it served to you by the most
experienced and courteous staff this side of the Red Cedar.
There's always fine recommendations and prompt service,
so step inside HI-Fl BUYS and "~feast" your ears and eyes
on the great sounds that will surround you.
HI-FI BUYS

all of the UGLI's 2,671 seats are filled at exam time,
when the library conveniently stays open until 5 a.m.
Besides its regular shelves, the UGLI includes the
libraries for the education and engineering schools, as
well as reserve shelves, where books required for specific
courses are often kept. For study breaks at the UGLI,
you can browse through the art print gallery, listen to
records in the audio-room, sometimes catch a f r e e
scientology flick. in the multi-purpose room, or have
a cup of coffee in the snack bar.
GENERAL LIBRARY - Next door to the UGLI is
the granddaddy of University libraries, the G e n e r a 1
or Graduate Library. Though it is often difficult and
exhausting to try and find the book you want in the
General Library, it's often worth the trouble as the
Grad Library's resources are infinitely better than those
of the UGLI. The traditional trauma of "getting lost in
the stacks" of the Grad library has been somewhat al-
leviated by the opening of the Harlan Hatchen exten-
sion, whose floors are well-organized and brightly lit.
LAW LIBRARY - For'really quiet study ,the Law
Library is ideal. Housed in a cathedral-like edifice on
the south side of the Law Quad, one can study here in
sumptuous style.
RACKHAM BUILDING - This majestic home of the
Graduate School has deep leather chairs, mahogany
tables, and brilliant lighting from chandeliers 35 ft up,
making it one of the most comfortable places around
where students can study in absolute peace.
DORM LIBRARIES - These provide an informal
studying atmosphere in the dorms where quiet social-
izing and studying can be mixed. Their resources range
from 2,000 volumes at South Quad to Bet.Ry Barbour's
480. Most include large paperback and record collections,
kept up to date.
OTHER FAVORITE NOOKS - The Union and
League have big rooms with tables and chairs provided
for study. The League, in fact, has a room where only
women are allowed to study. The top floor of the Insti-
tute for Social Research has a good snack bar and a
good view of the campus for school-hour study. Quiet
restaurants such as Mark's on William Street provide
the atmosphere necessary to get anything accomplish-
ed. The "Airport Lounge" at East Quad also attracts
students because of its modern, bright decor and com-
fortable couches. On nice days, the Diag and the Arb
are good places to take in the sun and read a book.

SERVICE AFTER THE SALE
So you walk into a store ad ask if they have service. They say yes. Sure they do. Where is it done? So they farm it out?
You don't know how long it will be, what the quality of work is, and so on. Home Appliance Mart maintains its own
staff of factory-trained service personnel to serve you better. This is very important to us. We will also match zany price
in town. Our salesmen are competent to help you make a selection. Try us.
