A typical football Saturday.
The band marches in their maize and blue uniforms and
doesn't miss a note. The Wolverines score their first touch-
down. Bo grins on the sidelines. (Sometimes he kicks his foot
on the invinceable Tartan Turf.) The Wolverines score an-
other touchdown.
George Cavender leads the band. The band doesn't miss
a note. The Wolverines score another touchdown. Bo grins
even more. The fans swing their pennants in myriads of
minute arcs. They raise their fists to the sky and proclaim
another Michigan first down.
"We're number one!"
Billy (will he be Mr. Heisman?) Taylor streaks into pay-
dirt, and does his victory dance. Glenn Doughty waves at a
would-be tackler as he flashes past.
Bo sends in the reserves. The pounding,.flashing, feet of
eleven blue-clad warriors pummel the Cavaliers, Bruins, Mid-
dies, or Illini into the plastic dirt. The Wolverines score
another touchdown.
The fans tire of the game. Spectators:(willing and other-
wise) take an all-expenses paid trip on their backs to the
top of Michigan stadium. Boone's Farm bottles wend their
way on a circuitous route to their eternal doom.
"Who was that who just scored?"
"Who cares. As long as it was one of ours."
The football goes into the stands after an extra point.
A huge, churning mass of bodies encircles it, consumes it.
Three hot-air balloons overlook the stadium, trying to catch
