Ron Davis, 12-2, the second of three New York pitchers, was the winner in the second game. New York had 14 hits in the game while the three New York pitchers limited the Tigers to four hits. Alan Trammell singled home the tie-breaking run in the fifth inning to help the Tigers win the first game. Morris, 14-7, worked the first five innings, allowing only three hits and all three New York runs, two of them coming on Jim Spencer's third-inning homer. Pat Underwood and Aurelio Lopez finished up, with Lopez gaining his 19th save. Tommy John, 18-9, was the Yankee loser. Blue Jays 5, Indians 2 TORONTO-Bob Bailor tripled home two runs to back the pitching of'Balor Moore and reliever Tom Buskey as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-2 yesterday. Toronto scored an unearned run in the first off Cleveland starter Len Barker, 6-5, on a pair of walks, a passed ball and Roy Howell's double-play grounder. The Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead in the second on a run-scoring single by Luis Gomez. Cleveland got a run in the fourth on Ron Pruitt's RBI single but Toronto took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the inning on a pair of singles and a double-play grounder by Gomez. pressurei By The Associated Press PITTSBURGH - Bill Robinson's two-out, tie-breaking single in the seventh inning gave the Pittsburgh Pirates a 5-4 victory over the New York Mets yesterday. The Mets had scored twice in the top of the seventh to tie the game 4-4 before Robinson's game-winning blow for the Pirates.- The Mets took a 2-0 lead in the first on Richie Hebner's RBI single and a sacrifice fly by Ed Kranepool. Steve Nicosia led off the Pirate third with a single, took second on a sacrifice, went to third on Omar Moreno's single and-scored on a single by Tim Foli. Moreno stole second, went to third on Folhs single and scored on Parker's sacrifice fly to tie the game at 2-2. The Pirates took a 4-2 lead in the fifth on a run-scoring single by Foli and an RBI grounder by Robinson. Bruce Boisclair led off the Mets' seventh with a double and one out later, pinch-hitter Ron Hodges was walked. Sergio Ferrer, running for Hodges, was safe at second on Frank Taveras' in- field grounder to load the bases. John Stearns grounded to third base, forcing Boisclair at the plate, but Ferrer and Taveras scored on Lee Mazzilli's single to tie the game. Although winless through the first two weeks of the schedule, the Jets and Lions had opposite experiences last week. Detroit came from far behind to catch Washington only to be beaten 27- 24 by a field goal in the final seconds of the game. New York, meanwhile, ab- sorbed the worst defeat in the fran- chise's history, walloped 56-3 by the New England Patriots. Venuto connected with McDougald on a 9-yard pass for the game-winning touchdown 31 seconds into the final quarter of a sloppily-played game in which both teams suffered seven tur- novers. Venuto, who completed 20 of 34. passes for 273 yards, hit on four of five, for 65 yards in an 89-yard drive that' erased Georgia's 21-16 lead after three, quarters. Venuto's other two touchdown passes came in the first quarter and covered 16 and 10 yards, both going to Wayne' Baumgardner.
