The Michigan Daily-Friday, October 27, 1978-Page 13 ii Mihian hockey. action pacihked 6 minutes, i I, * I h 1 7 { The 1978-79 Michigan hockey season has begun with the Wolverines getting off to a quick start. Last weekend, the icers tripped up the Bowling Green Falcons twice in overtime and will carry their two game winning streak into the start of conference play tonight. Dan Farrell, starting his sixth season as the Wolverine coach, is counting onl senior Mark Miller to lead the team offensively. Along with Miller, Farrell has junior Dan Lerg and a whole host of recruits with the ability to put the puck in the net. Last year, the Wolverines played many exciting games at home and they ex- pect to continue that through this season. The team will play their home games at Yost Ice Arena again this year. Over the off season, Michigan Athletic Director Don Canham spent a great deal of money to make many improvements inside the arena. New locker rooms and of- fices were built as well as all new bathrooms for the fans' use. This season should be one both the team and the fans should enjoy. N 35'II
