"If Keaton doesn't win an Academy Award, there' is no God" -=RexReed. Gone With the Wind (MLB 4, 7 only) . America's sentimental favorite. See it again. A, 7 only) Lovely and witty, though a bit dated. Kate Hepburn won her first Academy sward for her performance. The Apartment (Aud. A, 9 only) A superb film with a great cast. Lemmon delivers a fine performance in this cynical comedy drama. Don't miss it. Gone With The Wind (MLB 4, 2 and 7). MONDAY October 23 Cinema Man of the West (Old A&D, 9 only, admission free) A pensive film by Western director Anthony Mann. The Horse Soldiers (Old A&D, 10:45 only, admission free) John Ford's only Civil War film. Good, but not one of his best. Events Martha Graham Dance Co. (Power Center, 8 p.m.). TUESDAY October 24 Cinema The Human Condition, Pt. II: Road to Eternity (Old A&D, 7:30 only, ad- mission free). A not-too-well-known Japanese film. I hope it isn't as preten- tious as its title implies-. The Teacher (MLB, 7 and 9) Curren- tly the most popular film in Cuba. Wor- th a try. Ann Arbor premiere: Los Olivados and The Illusion travels by Streetcar (Aud. A, 7 & 10:15 and 8:40 only, respectively) Two Bunuel films, each one is well made and haunting. Los Olivados is famous for its brutal characters WED-NESDAY October 25 Cinema Public Enemy (Old A&D, 7 and 9:05) This is the Cagney film that contains the famous "grapefruit" scene. Worth Le Jour Se Leve (Aud. A;-7 only). A must for connoiseurs of the French cinema. The Exile (Aud. A, 9 only) Directed by Max Ophuls, who is famous for his grand camera movement and his delicate, ironic comedy. THURSDAY October 26 Cinema The Conformist (Old A&D, 7 and 9:05) Bertolucci's interesting film about one man in prewar Italy. Made before Last Tango in Paris. Moses and Aaron (Aud A, 7 only) A filming of the Schoenberg opera. Ann Arbor premiere. Sebastiane (Aud. A, 9 only). Con- troversial film about St. Sebastiane. Ann Arbor Premiere. Sleuth (Assembly Hall, Michigan Union, 7 and 9:30) A strange " whodunit'' that showcases brilliant dialogue and equally brilliant acting. A great film.. Niteries Second Chance - Rock and roll with Mugsy through Sunday. Then it's funky music with the Crowd Pleasers during the week. The Earle - All Directions this weekend.
