Ask Bob Freeman. ob Freeman joined Monsanto in 1956 after obtaining his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Wayne State University. Ex- cept for a two-year leave of absence to teach Organic Chemistry at North Carolina Agri- cultural and Technical University, he has been with Monsanto. Today, Bob is with our Agricultural Research Department. His work involves iso- topic labeling of pesticides, a job that is con- cerned with the safety of chemicals used on vegetable and grain crops. These isotopically labeled pesticides are used in researching plant genetics, seeking to produce higher- yielding strains of plants such as soybeans. Bob is also active in community affairs. He is a member of the Board of Commis- sioners of the St. Louis Museum of Science and Natiirl Hietrr Bob Freeman. A fine example of that cer- tain quality we call "Monsanto Drive."
