Intramural Sports Results, Summer
2. RACQUETBALL- Women 1978

Dear Faceless Reader:
We are your faceless sportswriters. We know you're out
tshere, because every day we make a few thousand copies of
our work and every day when we come in to work most of those
are gone.
We know that you know that we're here too, because you
see our stories about Phil Hublard, Bill Dufek, Mike McGuire
and Abby Currier and you see our names at the top of the
stories.
But we really have no direct contact with each other.
That's why we decided to place a new emphasis on intra-
mural sports.
Admittedly, our coverage in the past of IM sports has been
negligible. But beginning today and every Wednesday hereafter
in THE DAILY, we will be bringing you complete coverage of all
IM sports like you've never seen complete coverage.
Why are we doing this? Because we want to be able to
better relate to our readers, and we want our readers to be
able to better relate to us. We know you enjoy reading about
Michigan sports and Michigan athletes, and we think you'll also
enjoy reading about yourselves.
Every Wednesday we will dovote an entire page and more
to IM sports. Our coverage will include scores and schedules
of all IM sports. We will also feature action photography
of the players, officials and administrators who are involved in
intramural athletics.
We think you'll like our new approach to IM sports.
After all, in addition to Hubbard and Dufek, how can you not
enjoy reading about the Yellow Cab, Jacques Seeds, Jeff
Liebster and the Honeydippers?

Intramural
Sports News
This school year marks the 50th year
that the Intramural Sports Building,
at 606 E. Hoover has been serving stu-
dents at the University of Michigan.
Besides marking the building dedica-
tion anniversary this year is the 50th
year Intramural Buildings have been
with us, in other words, the Intra-
mural Sports Bldg. was the first Intra-
mural Building ever constructed. With
the recent renovations, including re-
lighting of the courts and installation
of suanas, the buildings should be here
for another 50 years to serve every-
one.
To help celebrate this anniver-
sary the Department of Recreational
Sports will be having a "Touch of
Gold" Night on Homecoming Weekend
on October 28th from just after the
football game until midnight. There
will be tours of the Intramural Sports
Building, Sports Activity, a walk down
Memory Lane, and refreshments for all
