I Lost Any Buttons Gloves? By JEAN SPENCER Investigation bears out what Ann Arbor townies have always suspected -- University students are losers. They lose everything from single buttons (several students are missing more than one) to typewriters, and such valuables as money, jewelry and girdles. Martha Lindenschmidt, who presides over the general lost-and- X found department on the second floor of the Administration Build- ing, laments the number of ar- ticles left unclaimed by the care- less. Signs of creeping conformity are manifest in the preponderance of identical items lost, including trench coats, leather-palm gloves, textbooks and glasses. Mrs. Lindenschmidt's depart- ment collects mislaid articles from Angell and Mason Halls as well as the Undergraduate Library for the most part. Far-out schools (Engi- neering, Dentistry) have their own lost-and-found departments, as do ,the Union and League.
