SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21,1959 THE MICHIGAN DAILY P £AA "VT~ AV&4 ,. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 19~9 THE MTCHTGAN BATTY PA &'V 'V~~W i Aur. rivi. 4_ Regents Give Approval To Revised SGC Plan USED CARS COME IO CH cCiH - (Continued from Page 1) must be accompanied by his sons in writing. rea-I I Regent Power remarked that the new plan "does not detract from the broad area of student respon- sibility and it puts the responsi- bility where it should be," Offers 'Broad Area' "It offers broad area of concern to SGC, the actions of which would be reviewed by an impartial board which is not directly in- volved," he added. The previous recommendation of the Clarification Committee was that the Committee on Referral consist of the SGC President, one other student, the Dean of Men or Women plus one other administra- tor, three faculty members, an rO come, let us worship and bow down; let us "neel before the Lord our maker." Psalm 96, 6. alumnus without vote and the Vice-President for Student Affairs as an ex-officio member without vote. This recommendation had been submitted tentatively to the Re- gents last summer, but action on the new plan was delayed until the Council could discuss the changes this fall. Make Changes At the fall meeting, SGC sug- gested to the Regents that the Dean of Men or Women, the SGC President, and the Vice-President for Student Affairs be dropped from the Committee on Referral and the Regents concurred. Other changes from the old plan included the elimination of the provision that Council actions must conform, in addition to other requirements, to "administrative policy." Provision was also made for prior consultation between stu- dents, faculty and administration of issues before the Council effect- ing them all, and for the use of the new Student Regulation Book to supplement the plan. It also provided that all SGC meetings would now be open to the public instead of "to the campus." CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING LINES 2 3 4 Figure 5 average words to a line.
