Speaking before the Inter-fra-f ternity Presidents' Council, Mar- tens said that an equitable solu- tion on membership selectivity, the elimination of hazing and the renovation of old fraternity houses were the most pressing problems before IFC. At the Presidents' meeting, the IPC also presented three scholar- ship awards of $125 each to John Ullrich, '62E, Phi Kappa Psi; Gil- bert Okun, 'IIBAd., Tau Epsilon Phi; and Gayle King, '61E, Delta Upsilon. The awards are granted on the basis of scholarship and activities in both the fraternity and the Uni- versity. Phi Epsilon Pi won the Sigma Chi Trophy for the highest aca- demic average achieved by a fra- ternity pledge class this past year. Their 17 pledges attained a 2.74 academic average. The Pi Epsilon Phi Trophy for the highest academic average achieved by a fraternity was won by Trigon with a 2.82 over-all average.
