The theatre would have ample space to prepare their productions for performance. The cost of the building has been estimated at $25,000. fir The Ann Arbor Civic Theatre announced yesterday that prelim- inary plans have been completed for the construction of a studio building to provide facilities for the rehearsal of plays, meetings and construction of the various sets. The 40 by 84 foot building, de- signed - by University architect Joseph J. Wehner of the architec- ture and design college will prob- ably be located on the proposed S "A%'T Soi.ologists0 Set To Debate Disarmament A pacifist and a militarist will debate "The Question of Disarma- ment and the Role of Force in Modern International Relations" at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Van- denberg Room of the League. Prof. Anatol Papoport of the Mental Health Research Institute and Prof. Morris Janowitz of the sociology department will debate. An open discussion and debate will follow the debate, which is' sponsored by the student Honors Council. The meeting is open to public. site near Ann Arbor High School on South Main Road. Charles C. Chadwick, president of the group, said that for the past several years they have con- structed sets in the Dold School- house in Lodi Township, and that they used to occupy the old log cabin at Burns Park until it was demolished.f Chadwick pointed out that thel recent increase in the number of performances each year and , in the theatre arts in general prompted the expansion of the present facilities. The Civic Thea- tre plans to make its rehearsal and meeting rooms available to other groups when not in use for its own plays. The construction cost is an estimated $25,000, most of which will have to be raised through contributions. A fund raising drive is being organized and is scheduled to start within the next! few days. It is planned to begin'construc- tion as soon as the group has the necessary funds for the project. Among the most successful Civic Theatre productions have been "Guys and Dolls," "Death of a Salesman," "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "A Streetcar Named Desire." This week, the group is presenting "Wonderful Town" at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre. DAILY OFFICIAL BULLETIN PIANOS-ORGANS NEW & USED Ann Arbor Piano & Organ Co. 213 E.
