'Much Ado'
"Much Ado About Nothing," the
opening production of the Profes-
sional Theatre Program's Fall Fes-
tival will feature Jan Farrand,
Nancy Marchand, Ellis Rabb and
Clayton Corzatte in the lead roles
and some new production tech-
niques in the script.
Richard Baldridge, who made
the adaptation has reset the play
in 19th century Spain in order to
make the plot more readily accept-
able by the audience.
According to Miss Farrand, who
plays the role of Hero, the intense
passions and jealousies present in
the play make it necessary to
stage it in an environment where
such things are emphasized.
Although the play is a comedy,
an effort has been made to em-
phasize the personal relationships
between the characters and thus
give them more depth. Joseph Bird,
who plays Dogsberry (shown
above) points out that even roles
such as his tremendously witty
