And you know what thoughts a young man's fancy turns to ingspring-PANTY RAIDS. This spring, the founda- tion industry has come up with7 several new items to make the col- lege boy's favorite sport more ex- citing. The luckiest participants, will return with such treasurers, as the "no-bra," the "body stock- ing" and padded girdles. California designer Rueii Gern- reich (of topless bathing suit fame) has designed the "no-bra." It is constructed basically in the same manner as a conventional model, butncomes in sheer nylon tricot, with the shaping of two lone darts. The product is avail- able in colors of black, white and nude. Similar Style Ann Arbor stores are not carry-f ing Gernreich's version, but they will have a similar style in sheer lycra, along with a variety ofI slips and girdles in the new nude color. They also have the "body stocking," a garment that looks somewhat like a tank suit and offers about as much support. It was tagged with the name "body stocking" because the bust area is knitted like the heel of a stocking. Body Stocking A local saleswomen praised the body stocking for its wonderful flexibility, saying that "it can do a lot of tricks." She admitted that it did not provide much sup- port. "It's more of a reminder for young muscles," she said, foresee- ing the possibility that those with old and flabby muscles will also be relying on it. The saleswoman explained that the body stocking was meant to be worn primarily under negligees and hostess gowns. However, she predicted that the sheer nude- colored undergarment will be seen under white blouses "at the rate they're going."{ By MERLE WESTON If you think the shoe that goes Alas! with everything is just "it," then Alas! Navy is perhaps the most popu- lar color of the season. New shades of off-white, beige, grassy green, pale blue, yellow pastels, baby. pinks and frosty apricots are run- ning close seconds. Each color is especially designed for that one "special" outfit. Lightest This spring, mere stripling shoes play along with the textured stockings for the barest lightest feet on dry ground. The toes will be crescent-shaped leading to a fuller U-line throat. Effects will be more tailored with delicate cut outs, perfora- tions or vamp and side openings. To add a little gingerbread, bows, ties and buttons will be the pre- dominant decorations. The shoes are climaxed with T straps, ankle starps, and, where nudeness is all, invisible straps! Sling-back heels are again the rage. Heels Heels are lowered for comfort, femininely shaped and delicate in appearance. The stack heel is as prominent as ever.
