Monday through Friday, and Saturday 10:00 'til 11:30 A.M. By BUD WILKINSON Sports Editor The Michigan baseball team dropped its second nonconference game in two days yesterday as Western Michigan jolted Michi- gan, 6-3, in Ann Arbor. Coach Moby Benedict continued to search for a third Big Ten starter using three junior pitchers who have seen little action so far this year. Southpaw Joe Kerr, who held Detroit hitless in his 2%/ inning stint on Monday, was also the most effective of the Wolverine pitchers yesterday. Pitching the last 21/3 innings against the Broncos, one of the top ten teams in the country, Kerr scattered four hits and gave up no runs. Major League Standings NATIONAL LEAGUE W L Pct. I-M Softball, Co-Rec Begin For Summer The summer intramural pro- gram swings into action next Tuesday with league softball games. All games will begin at 6 p.m. during the summer, and team en- tries are needed. Individuals may also enter and teams will be made up from those signing up individ- ually. Entries may be made by phoning the Intramural Sports Building. Beginning tonight and continu- ing throughout the summer on Wednesday nights is the co-rec- reation program. From 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Wed- nesday's both men and women students may participate in swim- ming, gymnastics, p a d d 1 e b a l 1, squash and, after tonight, in vol. leyball and badminton at the Sports Building. Also on tap for the summer will be individual tournaments in pad- dleball, handball and squash, and interested students are invited to sign up now. The Intramural Building will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday during theI summer. In the seventh Michigan scored all three of its runs on two hits. Shortstop Bob Gilhooley started the inning with a walk and ad- vanced to second on Dick Schry- er's single to left field. Both runners moved up when Chan Simonds was given a base on balls and Gilhooley came in with Michigan's first run on a passed ball. After Andy Fisher struck out, Al Bara slammed a triple to center field-the only extra-base hit of the afternoon for the Wolverines -and drove in Schryer and Simonds. Schryer was the big hitter for Michigan, getting three safties in four times at bat, but it was not enough to stop the Broncos. Western's final two runs came in the seventh on a double and two singles off Wolverine reliever Bill Zepp. WESTERN MICHIGAN AB RIH Locanto 2b 5 1 1 Cuyler cf 2 0 0 Lautzenhiser if 3 0 0 Koselke lb 5 1 3 Staron lb 5 2 2 Bales e 4 2 3 Mackie lf-ef 5 0 2 Marcell 3b 2 0 1 Roberts ss 3 0 0 Hallip 3 0 0 Johnson p 2 0 1 Totals 39 6 13 MICHIGAN AB R H Gilhooley ss 4 1 0 Sizemore c 4 0 1 Schryer cf 4 1 3 Simonds lb 3 1 2 Fisher if 4 0 0 a-Nelson 1 0 0 Bara rf 4 01 Sygar 2b 3 0 0 Wakabayashi 3b 2 0 0 Lyijynen p 2 0 0 Zepp p 1 0 0 Kerr p 1 0 0 Totals 33 3 7 W.
