EIGUT ONIGHT at HILLEL at 7:15 SABBATH SERVICE DR. NORTON MEZVINSKY, THE MICHIGAN DAILY FRIDAY. MARCH 24. DON'T FORGET THE 7-1 BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S CLUB RUMMAGE SALE FULL-YEAR OPERATION: Crisler Points Out Sports Problems - History Department speaker SAT. 8:30 A.M. VFW March 25 314 E. He said he was afraid study for three years without a prolonged break woul lead to a kind of "shell shock." Prof. Haber; however, em- phasizes that no decision on compulsory attendance has been, reached. H. 0. Crisler pointed out that full-year operation might create complications in the athletic department. If a trimester were institut- ed with one break coming in April, final exams would come right in the middle of the spring sports schedule. Worse yet, some athletics might graduate at this time-meaning that the athletic teams would be weakened just when competetion was at its peak. The quarter system would avoid this problem, but like the trimester would reduce a player's career by a season if he chose-or was obligated-to graduate in three years. Crisler noted that the University of Pittsburg, faced with just this problem, had asked the NCAA for permission to use athletes even after their graduation. The request was denied, so if the University goes on full-year operation it cannot expect special dis- pensation for its athletes. S ________________________I BL.AST-OFF THAT PAYS OFF.
