TEM'S 'MOST' SUCCESSFUL' PERIOD: Campus Fraternities Pledge 454 in Spring Rush By THOMAS HUNTER Inter-fraternity Council has an- nounced that 454 men pledged this semester after "the most success- ful spring rush the fraternity sys- tem has had." The number represents an in- crease of 15 men accepting bids oyer the 439 pledged last semester an increase even though there were fewer men participating in. the spring rush program than in the fall program. Rushing chairman John Meyer- holz, '63, explained that men pre- fer to rush in the fall and wait until spring to pledge, enabling the rushee to be more sure of his choice. Though the fall rush is declin- ing-from 1,138 three years ago and 984 last year to 925 last se- iester--and spring rush is in- creasing-a record 730 this year, Meyerholz feels the trend is not great enough to warrant a defer- red rush program.
