THE ~MICHIG~ANV AIL.1 1 I Committee I; I.' SHIRTS ... II handled with Loving Care. ther dnatKES To Examine Fire Rules A subcommittee of the Univer- sity safety committee will study the new school fire safety code recently passed by the Legislature to determine the effects the bill may have here. William J. Holland, a member of the safety committee, said the study is likely to be completed be- fore the code goes into effect May 15. The code establishes detailed re- quirements for the prevention and elimination of fire hazards in, school buildings in the state. The bill also provides for mis- demeanor penalties and court or- ders to enforce its regulations. At present there Is no state code in effect on schools as such. A staff of inspectors under the state fire marshal applies the code which covers public buildings to schools. Challenge is offering housing unit seminars on the "Challenge of Emerging Nations," Lawrence Meyer, '63, announced recently. The seminars are intended to supplement the Sunday afternoon programs and the Wednesday af- ternoon discussion groups also presented by Challenge.
