Carrying a $100 stipend, the award is given annually to a Daily staff member who displays quali- ties of courage, responsibility, ma- turity and "concern for justice and democratic ideals" in editorials and interpretative writing. SMAURICE B. EICHELBiERGER | .. .engineering graphics S"I enjoy teaching young people," Prof. Maurice B. Elchelberger of the engineering college said re- cently. "It keeps one young to remain in contact with them." Prof. Eichelberger retires this year after teaching engineering graphics and drafting for 40 years. He received his bachelor's d-- gree in military science at Michi- gan State College of Agriculture in 1916. He joined the University faculty in 1922 as an Instructor. He also helped compile a history of the engineering graphics de- partment. He is a faculty member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Prof. Elchel- berger is also an honorary faculty member of Triangles and Scab- bard and Blade honorary frater- nities.
