Approved: The following recommen- dations to Prof. Robert Harris on the Regental Resolution concerning mem- bership in fraternities and sororities: 1) That it be made clear that Stu- dent Government Council, alone, will make membership rules subject to the normal review procedures of the Coun- cil Plan, Revised. 2) That Student Government Coun- cil be allowed veto power over the selection of General Counsel by the M~embership Committee. 3) That. it, be made clear that the University administration shall carry out the decrees of the Membership Judge except for withdrawal of rec- ognition for which special provision is made in the Regental Resolution.' 4) That a clarification of the defi - nition of student organization pe made: specifically the elimination of point A and alterations in point B so that rec- ognition is attributed to Student Gov- ernment Council. Further, Student Government Coun- cil expresses its support of the resolu- tion and urges its speedy passage by the Board of Regents and requests that Prof. Harris be retained in his present capacity to recommend implementing legislation to Student Government Council under the same procedures used in drafting the Regental Resolutions. Approved: That Student Government Council delegate $100.00 from the funds allocated to the Forum Fund to the USNSA Committee. These funds shall be used for a program of a series of lectures, seminars, and discussion groups on international student relations. Adopted: The following expression of student opinion: Recently there has been a great deal of confusion about which University agency has the authority to determine the dress regulations of women resid- ing in University dormitories. Student Government Council believes that the' appropriate agencies for de- termining these rules are the student governing bodies of the dormitories. It is an insult to the intelligence and ma- turity of these students to assume that they are incapable of dealing with this matter in a responsible fashion. Student Government Council wishes to reiterate its belief that students are capable of handling their personal lives in a responsible fashion. Note: Copies of Student Government Council Minutes are available In the offices of Panhellenic Assoc., Assembly (Assoc., Intrefraternity Council, and Interquadrangle Council in the Student Activities Bldg.
